Euro Group B Advancement Scenarios

Going into the final game:

Croatia- has won the group and will met the 2nd place team from Group A in the quarterfinals.

Germany- advances with win or draw over Austria, eliminated with loss.

Austria- advances with win over Germany and Polish loss or draw, if Austria and Poland both win Austria must win by the same margin or more to advance, elminated with draw, loss, or win by two goals less than Polish win.

Poland- must win over Croatia, Austria must win over Germany, and must defeat Croatia by at least two goals more than Austria defeats Germany by to advance, is eliminated with loss, draw or German win or draw.

see tiebreaker scenarios should Austria and Poland both win.

So Croatia has nothing to play for. No motivation? Except pride?

Poland is gone, they aren't advancing. The only game that matters is Germany/Austria. If Austria wins they pull of one of the biggest upsets of all time, and they eliminate tournament favorite Germany.

It looks like were looking at a Germany/Portugal quarterfinal match-up though, which will be a GREAT game to watch. Croatia should be in the semis as I think they're better than both CZE and Turkey.

Poland isn't gone, GD has to correct, they are -2 on goal differential to Austria's -1, so they have to win by more than the Austrians to advance, but they are still alive.

Croatia is guaranteed 1st place in the group and Portugal is guaranteed 1st in theirs, so neither have anything at all to play for.
